Maryam Rajavi Tells MEK’s Free Iran Rally: Resistance Will Be Victorious

Maryam Rajavi began by thanking the thousands in attendance for their work in helping to relocate the Resistance members who had previously been under attack from the Iranian Regime at the former Resistance camp in Iraq.

This particular subset of MEK members are known as Ashrafis, named after the camp they were originally given by the Iraqi government, before Iraqi politicians became the pawns of the Regime. Camp Ashraf was basically an abandoned camp in the desert that the Ashrafis turned into a paradise, despite attacks from the Regime. They did the same at the abandoned military base Camp Liberty, where they were moved to by US troops under assurances they be safer. When the Ashrafis were still in danger from Iranian and Iraqi troops, Maryam Rajavi led an international campaign to move them to safety in Albania.

Maryam Rajavi said: “This was a great accomplishment in which you all played a part. The mullahs and the Revolutionary Guards sought to massacre these trailblazers for freedom, these freedom fighters. However, we defeated their quest for annihilation. This was but one of the chapters in the struggle for a free Iran. And I am confident that you will continue your efforts, standing with the Ashrafis until the day we reach Tehran and establish a free and democratic Iran.”

Maryam Rajavi then spoke about the exhibition on display in Ashraf 3 that chronicles the Iranian people’s 120-year struggle for freedom, which we will go into more detail about in a future piece, and assessed that the Resistance would win the fight and break the chains of the nation.

Maryam Rajavi said: “We are forging ahead on the path towards certain victory.

We have consistently broken new ground and advanced through firing squads, massacres, missile attacks, bombardments and terrorist designations, for the removal of which you all stood by our side.”

Maryam Rajavi noted the Regime has repeatedly tried to “burn” the Resistance, but the Resistance “rose again like a phoenix”, despite demonization campaigns, terrorism, and other malign behaviour. She reiterated that the Resistance are the “viable alternative” to the Regime and that the Resistance has great support inside and outside Iran.

Maryam Rajavi said: “Today, we have reached a historic turning point. An Ashraf which has once again risen up, proud and powerful, shining bright at the zenith of this Resistance.”

Maryam Rajavi explained that the Iranian people are not willing to put up with the mullahs anymore and seek to overthrow them, which is why there are now over 1000 MEK Resistance Units across Iran. Coupled with “a crisis-riddled regime engulfed in warmongering and terrorism [and] facing international sanctions”, Maryam Rajavi said that “the Iranian people and history are forging ahead on the road to certain victory”.
