NCRI Reveal Names of Four Young Martyrs in Iran Protests

The four young activists murdered on Monday evening by the state security forces in Islamshahr, south of Tehran, were identified as Arash Kohzadi, 17, Iman Rassouli, 20, Mohammad Mehdi Haghgou, 21, and Mohsen Jafar-Panah, 22. Kohzadi, Rassouli, and Haghgou were shot in the head, while Jafar-Panah was shot in the stomach.

Another 40 protesters were injured that night, during the intense clashes between the people and the suppressive forces, especially after the security forces failed to gain control and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) were called in. The IRGC, in most cases, wore the security force uniforms instead of their own.

The NCRI said that during the demonstrations, protesters destroyed the office of Islamshahr’s criminal Friday prayer leader Mohammad Nowrouzi and set his car on fire. (It should be noted that his staff was not killed.) Protesters also destroyed the state-owned Martyrs Foundation building, the local IRGC-owned chain stores, and most banks.

Of the banks in Islamshahr and Chahar Dangeh, 95% of them have been torched and only a few remain operational.

Meanwhile, in various parts of Tehran, as well as Isfahan, Khorramshahr, and Shiraz, the protests continued into their fifth day on Tuesday, according to the NCRI.

 At the Nazi-Abad Second Bazaar and Coca Cola (Pirouzi) intersection in Tehran, the Iranian people clashed with the suppressive state security forces and plainclothes agents.

In Narmak, Tehran, the suppressive forces have been firing shots in the air in order to disperse the people in a desperate attempt to end the clashes. While Pakdasht, also in Tehran, has been likened to a war zone, with groups of suppressive mercenaries dispatched to the area to fight the people in the streets.

Elsewhere, in Isfahan, the security agents and young people began to clash at roughly 8 pm local time and this continued for hours. The young people are using what the NCRI described as “hit and run tactics” against the many IRGC agents attacking them.

In Khorramshahr, young people set fire to three vehicles belonging to the security forces, which limits the agents’ ability to suppress protesters.

In some parts of Shiraz, the IRGC has been going to people’s houses and arresting their children, some as young as 12. It is not clear whether all the children were involved in the protests.
