Referring to a report published by the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (MEK, PMOI) from inside Iran, the daily reported: Reports from inside Iran’s organizations showed that the Iranian embassy and consulates in Iraq, including Baghdad, Basra, Najaf, and Karbala are under the control of the Qods Force, which eases the duties of those stationed in these positions to meddle in a large scale in Iraq’s affairs, and these people had a key role in suppressing the recent uprising.
Al-Seyassah continued: Interestingly, Brigadier General Iraj Masjedi who was for many years the deputy of Qassem Soleimani in the Qods Force and was personally responsible for many of terror attacks, hiding behind the diplomatic immunity. In addition, the diplomatic deputy of Masjedi- the deputy ambassador of Tehran in Baghdad – is also a Brigadier General of the IRGC, named Seyyed Musa Alizadeh Tabatabai.
The information that the MEK received shows that at this time nine of the Iranian officers including Brigadier General Mustafa Moradian, head of the military attachés at the Embassy, Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Rezai and Colonel Ruhollah Bakhshi Zadeh, Colonel Hassan Ashirah and in addition the head of Iran’s official news agency are in Iraq. These people are all depended on the Qods Force.
Among the officials who command the suppression of the Iraqi protesters who are protesting over the bad livelihood situation, are these people:
Seyyed Mohammad Reza Taba’i, an embassy police officer.
Mehdi Qasemi, Head of the Ministry of Intelligence Station at the Embassy, and Ali Qaemi, his deputy.
Behrooz Norouzpour from the Ministry of Intelligence Officers.
In addition to them, there are three other officers of the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) at the Embassy’s MOIS Station.
In addition to these individuals, a number of Revolutionary Guards and intelligence officers are stationed at Iran’s consulates. Kazim Mirzaei an officer of the IRGC works at the Najaf Consulate. A number of Qods Force officers, led by Omid Azadi, work at the Karbala Consulate.
Omid Azadi is 35 years old and from Iran’s Kermanshah Province. It is about two years that he has been relocated to Iraq. He travels to all of Iraq’s cities, from Kirkuk to Baghdad and Karbala. He is particularly active in dealing with Iraqi groups and has a large influence in the Hashed al-Shaabi militia (Popular Mobilization Forces) as well as Iraqi terrorist groups affiliated with the IRGC.
In addition, Iran’s consul general in Basra is Brigadier General Ahmad Sepahpush, who has been in the IRGC base in Khuzestan for some time. He previously commanded the IRGC Shadegan Corps in Khuzestan province and commanded the Fajr base in Ahvaz.
Al-Seyassah continued: The information obtained by the MEK confirms that Tehran has explicitly and unquestionably controlled the main positions of the Iraqi government through the Qods Force.
Al-Seyassah summarized: The Qods Force has a large presence (in Iraq) under diplomatic cover and Iran’s highest diplomatic posts in Iraq, and it was the force that systematically suppressed the protesters. Its officers are managing their affiliated militias in a bloody confrontation with the protesters in different Iraqi cities. This control shows the meddling of the Quds Force led by Qassem Soleimani in Iraqi affairs to control this country.
