The Iranian regime persists in executing prisoners, seemingly driven by the fear of potential uprisings. On January 24, Fazel Shafiei and Morteza Nadimi were hanged in Shiraz, followed by Ahmad Asgarat in Qezelhessar Prison on January 23, and Salman Salimi, Ahmad Ha’eri, Moslim Aliyari, Hosseinali Shakoorian, and Nasser Mavaddat in various locations on January 21 and 22.

Simultaneously, the regime sentenced political prisoner Ali Obaidavi to death after four years in Mahshahr Prison. His brother, Hossein Obaidavi, received a 13-year prison sentence. The Supreme Court confirmed the execution of political prisoner Yousef Ahmadi, while three others in the same case were sentenced to lengthy prison terms.

In a shocking development, Mehdi Mousavi, arrested during the January 2018 uprising, faces the inhumane punishment of having his left eye blinded for defending himself against a repressive police force. This sentence, upheld by the Supreme Court, is set to be carried out soon, reminiscent of similar brutal acts during the 2022 uprising.

Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, the head of the judiciary, vowed more executions in Bushehr, claiming the need to tackle those affiliated with foreigners who challenge the people’s values. Despite growing dissent, the government insists on its repressive approach.

The people of Iran and their Resistance condemns this brutality and urges the UN, EU, and member states to intervene. Ali Khamenei, Ebrahim Raisi, and Gholamhossein Eje’i should be held accountable for their decades-long crimes against humanity and genocide. The regime’s actions stand as a disgrace to contemporary humanity, and dealing with such a regime undermines democratic and human rights values.
