Iranian regime has violated the 2015 nuclear agreement that it made with world powers

By INU Staff

INU - French President Emmanuel Macron recently said that there was “no indication” that the Iranian regime has violated the 2015 nuclear agreement that it made with world powers, a statement that the Iranian mullahs and their propaganda network have held up as gospel, but Harvard educated political scientist Dr. Majid Rafizadeh has been investigating the facts behind that statement. Surprisingly, they don’t exactly match Macron’s account.

The terms of the deal

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, otherwise known as the Iran nuclear deal, has many flawed terms, which disregard both the Iranian regime’s regional policies and the pact ’s contribution to regional instability.

The nuclear deal and its sanctions relief allowed the Iranian Regime to increase its military strength, aggressive behaviour, and regional expansionism, mostly through the use of terrorist proxy militias, like the Houthis, which are trained and armed by Iran. All of this destabilizes the region, escalates tensions, and turns regional conflicts into wars.

Iran’s violations

Despite these already lax terms, Dr. Majid Rafizadeh, a leading expert on Iran and US foreign policy, has identified numerous occasions when the Iranian Regime violated the deal since the day of implementation, including:

• Developing and launching ballistic missiles, in direct violation of UN Security Council resolution 2231, which endorses the JCPOA. They launched at least 20 ballistic missiles in the past two and a half years.

• Stockpiling over 130 metric tons of heavy water (used to enrich uranium) on at least two occasions, according to Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

• Continuing their nuclear activities at a secret military site at Parchin, according to the National Council for Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the Iranian opposition group that first revealed Iran’s clandestine nuclear programme to the West in 2000. This latest revelation shows that Iran is continuing its nuclear programme away from the IAEA’s view.

Dr. Majid Rafizadeh wrote: “Macron ought to consider the facts and latest reports about the Iranian regime’s nuclear activities, as well as Tehran’s increasing belligerence in the region.

therwise any blanket statement that supports the Iranian regime will only empower and embolden Iran’s hardliners and assist them in pursuing their ambitions for regional hegemony more aggressively.”

How to stop Iran

The nuclear deal should be the world’s last attempt to appease the Iranian Regime. It is clear that the mullahs will not reform as they should. Instead, the international community should side with the only people capable of overthrowing the Regime: the Iranian people and their organised Resistance. A good place to start, for Macron in particular, would be to attend the Free Iran Grand Gathering in Paris on June 30. The annual rally, organised by the NCRI, attracts over 100,000 politicians, activists, and supporters to call for regime change in Iran.
