Iran Regime’s Increases Terrorist Threat as U.S. Increases Pressure

” By “necessary actions,” Zarif means the regime’s blackmailing campaign such as the seizure of the British vessel and the continuation of proxy wars in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

“Negotiations are necessary, as well as resistance,” Zarif added. Iran’s regime calls terrorist groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthis “resistance groups” and has vowed to continue supporting them.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, September 4, the United States imposed new sanctions on a vast petroleum shipping network that is directed by and financially supports the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force and its terrorist proxy Hezbollah.

On September 4, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in tweet, “Maximum Pressure continues. Today: sanctions on IRGC-QF shipping network. The Iranian regime funds the murderous Assad and terrorist proxies like Hizballah through its illicit oil sales. We’ll continue to deny Iran the resources it needs to destabilize the Middle East.”

On August 28, in an interview with Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC)–linked TV Afagh, Hossain Sheikholeslam, former deputy of the regime’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said, “We certainly help Houthis. This is our duty. Even Israel knows that our backed resistance movement have 150,000 missiles and they are ready to shoot them when we order.”
