Gulf News reported that Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh has promised that Iran will begin supplying Oman with 20 million cubic centimeters of natural gas per day sometime in the near future. He was no more specific than this, and there is currently no pipeline that could facilitate such a transfer. A project to build one would cost an estimated one billion dollars, but Iran remains cash-strapped with sanctions still in place and foreign investment still uncertain.
