The office of the late Ayatullah Jalaluddin Taheri Isfahani has announced the cancellation of all condolence meetings and functions in Tehran, Qum and other cities of Iran.
The reason given for this cancellation was that “certain dimensions created and injuries inflicted upon certain innocent people” during the course of the condolnce rituals for the late Ayatullah.
During these rituals some persons were also taken into custody and whose whereabouts are now unknown.
It seems apparent that the office of the late Ayatullah Taheri was compelled to cancel the condolence functions due to pressure exerted by intelligence and security agencies.
The office announced that condolence services will be restricted to the city of Najafabad.
