Saturday, June 15, 2013

INU – On Thursday, agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and National Security attacked several homes in Karaj, taking their residents to unknown locations. It has been reported that amongst the arrested are former political prisoners of 1980s.

Currently, five people have been identified as under arrest: Azam Moeini, Mostafa Ghaflani, Hamid Maybodi, Allahverdi Rohi, a former political prisoner, and Mohammad Moezi –brother of Ali Moezi, a 1980’s political prisoner who continues to be held in section 350 of the notorious Evin prison.

The arrests were ordered by a person known as “Mohebi,” an authority at the Ministry of Intelligence who resorts to torture. It has been reported that all of those arrested are being questioned and tortured by this anti-human criminal.  In addition, most of those who were arrested are families of, and children of, those in Camps Ashraf and Liberty in Iraq.

These arrests were made on the eve of the regime’s sham elections. As more names of those arrested in Karaj surface, this report will be updated with further detail.
