Vice-President of the European Parliament, Alejo Vidal Quadras predicts the election of Rowhani will be a continuation of the same policies and rhetoric Iranian regime has provided in the past. “Rowhani is not a change. It is a continuation of the Regime and they change faces but they do not change policies,” said Vidal Quadras.
Former Presidential Candidate of Columbia, Ingrid Betancourt also supplies a unique take on the outcome of the elections in regards to woman rights. “How can we say he is a moderate? A guy that is elected on the basis of taking out of the election half of the population. There are no women allowed to participate in elections. There is no moderation there. It is a dictatorship,” said Betancourt.
Hassan Rowani will be inaugurated as mullah’s new president on August 3, 2013.
