Why Iranian People Ar Calling for Political Change

And this is understandable because the people at home are suffering so badly that it is a complete injustice to ignore them and pile resources on conflicts abroad.

Iran is one of the richest countries in the world in terms of natural resources, however you would never know it if you looked at the current state of affairs there. People are living in extreme poverty and the economic prospects are very poor. Health and other social services are stretched to the limits.

So, to suffer and endure such hard conditions makes it even more difficult for the people of Iran to watch their wealth be spent on funding terrorism and militias and proxy groups that are spreading misery elsewhere. It is unbearable.

The young people of Iran are particularly adamant about changing the future of their country. They are the ones who will change the future and they make up such a large percentage of the population. Although many of them have never grown up knowing freedom and democracy, they know that they are entitled to it. They are standing shoulder to shoulder and confronting the callous regime that is denying the Iranian people of what they should automatically have.

Furthermore, the generation of Iranians that grew up as the revolution was happening has seen their country faced with an increasing amount of misery. They have also seen the corruption that has enabled the members of the regime to live in luxury.

These same people have been unable to earn a good living and ensure their futures are comfortable. They have been denied education and job security and legal rights. The people of Iran are also embarrassed that their country is associated with destabilising other countries in the region. They do not want to be associated with terrorism or extremism in any way.

The Iranian regime can no longer hide its true colours. There is no hope left in Iran. For many years. the Iranian people have been told to be hopeful – most recently because of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and the re-elected “moderate” President Hassan Rouhani. The Iranians were told to wait for change and for positive actions – but nothing happened. Nothing changed. The only thing that became obvious was that there is no moderation in the Iranian regime at all. Almost four decades is long enough to prove this.

After being promised change many times before, the people of Iran know that they have no choice but to take matters into their own hands. Together, the people are strong. Together, and with the support of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the people will make sure that political change happens and that the ruling regime will once and for all be stopped in its tracks.
