Cyber Attack by Iran in Days Before Nuclear Deal

According to multiple sources, State Department officials believe Iran hacked their emails and social media accounts in 2015, during a particularly sensitive week for the nuclear deal.

A cyber-attack took place within days of the deal overcoming opposition in Congress in late September that year, Susan Crabtree writes in an article for the Free Beacon. This occurred during the week when Iranian officials and negotiators for the United States and other world powers were attempting to meet implementation deadlines for a series of agreements with Tehran.

Iran: Wednesday Attacks in Tehran Claimed by ISIS

INU - ISIS group claimed responsibility Wednesday for a pair of attacks on Iran's parliament and the tomb of its leader, Ruhollah Khomeini, which killed at least 12 people and wounded more than 40.

Tehran Police Chief Gen. Hossein Sajedinia announced late Wednesday night that five suspects had been detained for interrogation, according to a report in the semi-official ISNA news agency. Sajedinia did not offer any further details.

Iran-Allied Hezbollah's Hashem Saffiedine Blacklisted

The United States Department of State listed the head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, Hashem Saffiedine, as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) under section 1(b) of Executive Order 13224, on May 19th. This designation imposes sanctions on Saffiedine, and seizes his interests and assets in US jurisdiction, as well as prohibits US persons from engaging in any transactions with him.
