INU -To distance Maliki and mullahs’ regime from charges, the fictitious “al-Muktar” army assumes responsibility for missile attack

• 70 injured, 34 impact points of 107mm missiles, several unexploded missiles in Liberty

NCRI - The deadly missile attack on Camp Liberty on Saturday, June 15, has killed at least two Iranian dissident and had injured 70 residents as registered at the Iraqi clinic in the camp by an Iraqi doctor, according to the latest information.

So far as many as 34 points of impact have been identified in the camp near Baghdad airport that houses over 3,000 members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Iraq.

A number of unexploded shells are remaining in the camp and continue to pose a serious threat to the lives of the residents. (The picture shows an unexploded shell in Camp Liberty).

As the international community countinue condemning the terrorist attack on defenseless refugees in Camp Liberty, the Iranian regime and its surrogate government in Iraq have resorted to an old and exposed tactic to let those responsible escape from the responsibilities for committing the criminal attack.

The Iranian regime and the Iraqi government of Nouri al-Maliki have sent Watheq al-Battat a well-known element of the Quds Force to scene to assume responsibility for this attack on behalf of Jaish al-Muktar, a group fabricated by them.

By doing so, they intend to distance groups their affiliated groups such as Kataeb Hezbollah and Asaib al-Haq from charges and whitewash their crimes.

Speaking after the attack on Camp Liberty, Watheq al-Battat said: “The youth of Muktar Army today had prepared 120 missiles to attack Liberty Base.”

He threatened residents of Camp Liberty with “firing of more missiles” (Almada Press, June 15).

Jaish al-Muktar is pseudonym for Kataeb Hezbollah that advances Ali Khamenei and Nouri al-Maliki dirty and bloody plots in Iraq.

Jaish al-Muktar had announced its existence on February 4, only 5 days prior to the February 9, 2013 missile attack on Camp Liberty.

Later, an Iraqi security official revealed: “Jaish al-Muktar is a fictitious army and operations that are related to it are operations by Kataeb Hezbollah and Asaib Ahl al-Haq… those who manage Kataeb Hezbollah and the paramilitary forces are affiliated with Iran. They have a headquarters in Baghdad to conduct their briefings and supervision.” This security official stipulated: “Maliki, Commander in Chief of armed forces, is informed of all this information in detail on sources, names, armed caches, and those who financially support these groups from abroad.” (Al-Sharqiya TV – March 1, 2013)

As reported by credible Arabic language publications such as al-Hayat daily, Asharq Al-Awsat daily, and Elaph website, the name “al-Muktar” (symbol of vengeance) refers to Maliki himself.

Asharq Al-Awsat wrote on February 11,:“Mokhtar Army has been created to support Iraqi government in security control” and in slogans chanted recently by some in support of Maliki in Baghdad, Maliki has been described as “Mukhtar of the era”.
