Movahedi Kermani, preacher of Tehran’s Friday prayer, spoke to the state-run Tasnim news agency and said: “[the] west says Iran supports terrorists. Who are these terrorists? Do you mean Hezbollah? The U.S. considers them as terrorists but I say Iran supports them.”
On John Kerry and Wendy Sherman’s comments, Movahedi Kermani said: “Mr. Kerry and Ms. Sherman used much vulgarity and ugliness in their words and they deserve this ugliness themselves. The Americans have stolen Iran’s money. It is as if the Americans have very high expectation of us. The issue is not merely nuclear. There are whispers that they want to go after our ballistic missiles.”
“They say sanction relief is limited and even reversible. So, with all these irrelevant and baseless talks shouldn’t Iran shout ‘death to America’?”, he added.
On Iran’s economic situation, class differences and severe poverty he said: “Some people cannot even eat one meat meal per month while the social class differences is high.”
