According to IRNA state news agency, on April 24, Brigadier General Seyyed Kamal Payambari, Deputy for Training of army ground forces, said: “In adherence with the design and command of the Commander in Chief, the army will also participate in advisory missions along with the revolutionary guards.”

He made these statements at a gathering of directors and staff of the Ministry of Defense.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran had previously declared that, following the impasse of revolutionary guards and foreign mercenaries, in order to protect Bashar Assad’s rule, the mullahs would dispatch army forces to Syria, including the 65th Nohed Brigade.

So far, at least forty Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps generals have been killed in the mullahs’ deployments to Syria.
