Iran Looking for New Route via Iraqi Kurdistan to Transfer Weapons to Syria

Among their requests is permission to transfer weapons through the Kurdish border to Syria.

Right now the border of Iraq with Syria is closed due to the developments in Anbar Province.

Therefore, the Iranian regime is looking for another route. According to this report, Iraq’s Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) has not yet allowed such transfers.

The west has condemned the transfer of weapons by the Iranian regime to Syria. Last month the U.S. called on Nouri Maliki to prevent these transfers.
