Iranian Prisoners Stand Against Executions
On October 21, 2025, the 91st week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign was marked by a major act of defiance at Qezel Hesar Prison. Prisoners in Ward 2 went on a week-long hunger strike, chanting “No to Execution“, and successfully halted the execution of six fellow inmates.
Risking Death to Save Lives
The prisoners’ bold action came with immense risk. Their protest could have led to their own executions, but they chose resistance over silence. This act of courage inspired a wave of solidarity across the country.
Families Join the Protest
On Sunday, October 19, families of the prisoners gathered outside Iran’s parliament to raise their voices against the regime’s execution-driven policies. Their protest reflected growing public outrage.
A Grim Execution Record
In just one week, the Iranian regime executed 59 individuals, including two women and one juvenile. In the current Persian month of Mehr alone, 232 people were executed. Since March 2025, the total number of executions has surpassed 1,087.
Call for International Action
The campaign’s latest statement urges the international community and human rights organizations to take enforceable measures against Iran’s mass executions. It calls for cutting political ties and launching investigations into regime officials responsible for torture and death sentences.
Nationwide Solidarity in 52 Prisons
This week, prisoners in 52 prisons across Iran joined the hunger strike. Their unified voice continues to echo the demand: No to Execution.
