On August 8, Iranian state media reported that Ebrahim Raisi had appointed Mohammad Mokhber as his First Vice President. Mohammad Mokhber is one of the corrupted people in the ruling body who has gained much wealth and power in various positions.
Record of Mohammad Mokhber
Mohammad Mokhber is the son of a cleric named Abbas Mokhber, born in Dezful. He continued his primary education in Dezful and Ahvaz. Like Raisi, it is not clear where he attended high school, or at least his biography does not mention it.
But then it is claimed that in his doctorate in management and planning of economic development, he also has a master’s degree and a doctorate in international law.
Mohammad Mokhber has been the head of Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) since 2007. Mokhber’s other executive records are as follows:
- The Deputy Minister of Commerce and Transportation of the Mostazafan Foundation
- Chairman of the Board of Sina Bank
- Deputy Governor of Khuzestan
- Managing Director of Dezful Telecommunication Company
- Deputy Governor Gotvand
In July 2010, the European Union placed Mohammad Mokhber on a list of individuals and entities banned from activities related to ballistic and nuclear missiles. But the union removed him from the list two years later.
On January 13, 2021, the US Treasury Department sanctioned Mohammad Mokhber and added him to the list of “specially designated nationals” (SDN).
“The United States will continue to target those who enrich themselves while claiming to help the Iranian people,” the then US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said at the time of the listing.

Barakat Foundation, which works in the fields of job creation and development, started its work in December 2007 by the order of Mokhber. It now owns more than 40 companies.
Barkat Tel
Barakat Tel Company is one of the companies affiliated with the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, which has been named the designer and implementer of the e-health project by the Barakat Foundation.
Ehsan Barakat Foundation
The Barakat Ehsan Foundation is a social foundation affiliated with the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, which was set up to organize rapid response activities.
Barakat Pharmaceutical Town
Barakat Pharmaceutical Town is a specialized and research pharmaceutical town.
It is clear from Mohammad Mokhber’s record that, at least in recent years, he has been active in centers and foundations that have been centers of looting and plunder.
