On the third anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s murder and the 2022 uprising, rebellious youth and PMOI Resistance Units reignited the flame of resistance with nationwide operations, strikes, and bold actions that shook the regime despite its heavy security clampdown.
Nationwide Resistance Despite Regime Crackdown
On September 16, 2025, the third anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s state-sponsored murder, the clerical regime attempted to silence the nation. It turned cities like Saqqez into military garrisons, sealed off Mahsa’s gravesite, and flooded the streets with security forces. Yet this blanket of repression was torn apart by defiant acts across the country—from rooftop chants of “Death to the dictator” in Tehran to strikes in Kurdistan. The Iranian people once again showed that the flame of the 2022 uprising is not a memory but a living force.
In this atmosphere of resistance, Iran’s rebellious youth and the PMOI Resistance Units launched coordinated operations to honor the 750 martyrs of the 2022 uprising, especially those executed for standing against regime agents and tyranny.
25 Anti-Regime Operations Across Iran
Despite being on full alert, regime institutions across the country were targeted. Rebellious youth carried out at least 25 operations in Tehran, Karaj, Isfahan, Mashhad, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Gorgan, Qazvin, Kerman, Iranshahr, Birjand, Bukan, and other cities. Their actions included:
- Setting fire to regime centers of suppression, including IRGC Basij bases in Tehran, Isfahan, Karaj, Kermanshah, and Sanandaj.
- Burning offices of the Khomeini Foundation in Tehran, a corrupt institution involved in plundering national wealth.
- Attacking symbols of repression, including the Ministry of Intelligence’s espionage offices in Qazvin, Isfahan, and Bukan.
- Torchings of regime propaganda, including images and banners of Khomeini, Khamenei, Qassem Soleimani, and former president Ebrahim Raisi in multiple provinces.
These bold actions struck at the core of the regime’s repressive apparatus, signaling the continuation of the uprising until the realization of a free Iran.

Honoring the Martyrs of the 2022 Uprising
The nationwide uprising that erupted in September 2022 after Mahsa Amini’s killing was part of a long chain of resistance, from the 1980s massacres of political prisoners to the uprisings of 1999, 2009, 2017, and 2019. In 2022, the regime once again unleashed deadly force, murdering at least 750 demonstrators and arresting more than 30,000.
By targeting regime centers on the anniversary, rebellious youth sent a clear message: the sacrifices of the martyrs will not be forgotten, and their path will be carried forward until victory.

Resistance Units: Organized Leadership for a Democratic Future
Alongside these daring operations, the PMOI Resistance Units carried out widespread activities that gave political direction to the people’s defiance. Their banners and slogans declared:
- “You can neither kill nor silence the people’s uprising.”
- “Heroes rose. There will be no surrender.”
- “Down with the oppressor, be it the shah or the mullahs.”
Recognizing the pivotal role of youth, the Resistance Units also marked the beginning of the new academic year by urging students to transform every school and university into a bastion of resistance. Their call declared: “The first lesson is the lesson of resistance and freedom,” honoring students imprisoned for their activism while exposing the regime’s failures, such as the mass deprivation of education among Baluch children due to poverty.

Toward a Free and Democratic Iran
The clerical regime’s overwhelming militarization on the anniversary was not a display of strength but a confession of weakness. Three years after the 2022 uprising, the spirit of resistance not only endures but has become more organized, determined, and future-focused.
The PMOI Resistance Units and rebellious youth are not only keeping alive the flames of defiance but also shaping a democratic alternative that rejects both the mullahs’ theocracy and any return to monarchy. Their vision is clear: a free, democratic, and equal Iran.
The message from inside Iran on this anniversary was unmistakable—the people’s uprising will not be silenced, and the struggle for a democratic republic continues until the overthrow of the regime.
