In an online conference on Wednesday, April 14, marking the holy month of Ramadan, dignitaries from different countries attended and declared their support for the Iranian people and their organized Resistance. They also expressed their interfaith solidarity in the face of fundamentalism that is brewed and spread by the regime ruling Iran.

One main method used by the regime in Iran to ensure its survival has been the extremist and fundamentalist misinterpretation of Islam in order to advance its own fanatical interests inside Iran and across the region.

At the event, attendees strongly condemned the Iranian authorities’ misuse of religion and announced their support for a democratic and tolerant Islam represented by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

“Today, the pandemic has changed the face of many countries but Iran’s case is different. The regime ruling Iran has deliberately been seeking massive human casualties to prevent popular protests. It has used the Coronavirus as a shield to fend off uprisings to the extent that the mullahs’ supreme leader Ali Khamenei declared a ban on the purchase of vaccines from the U.S., Britain, and France,” Maryam Rajavi began her remarks.

“The ruling mullahs turn a blind eye to the warnings and requests of specialist physicians meant to confront the Coronavirus and to reduce the fatalities it causes,” she said, adding, “In reality, the Iranian people simultaneously face two monsters: the virus of religious fascism and the Coronavirus.”

Their four-decade-long record of crimes and oppression reveals [the mullahs] as being the pharaohs of this era: The execution of 120,000 political opponents, the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners, and the slaughter of at least 1,500 young men and women during the November 2019 uprising,” NCRI President-elect continued.

“There is a solution to this ominous calamity which has taken hostage the destinies of Middle East countries and poses the greatest threat to global peace and security. The solution is the overthrow of the mullahs’ religious fascism by the Iranian Resistance and through the uprising of the Iranian people,” Maryam Rajavi concluded.

This is the specific characteristic of the Iranian Resistance. It has enormous experience and has made enormous sacrifices for the Iranian people. Even those who are not Iranian wish success for this noble cause. And this is why we consider it as our shared cause,” said Sid Ahmed Ghozali, former Prime Minister of Algeria.

“Why does the Iranian regime need to kill Syrians and Iraqis and Yemeni people? This is not Islam. We want a civil government that works for the people, not steal from them. We need to share power in the country. They are using Islam to control the people and this is not acceptable,” said Bassam Al-Omoush former Jordanian Minister and former Ambassador to Iran.

They are planting bombs and depriving the people of food,” said Riad Yassin Abdallah, Former Yemeni Foreign Minister and Ambassador to France.

“I invite all our brothers and friends to support and pray for our nation. We need to understand that what they are doing is not supporting peace and security and is not related to any religion,” he added.

“Our message is that real Islam is a religion of advancement and peace. The Iranian people are the first to suffer from the mullahs’ regime. This evil extends to the region through the regime’s militias. The Iranian revolution was supposed to free the Iranian people from the Shah’s regime, not to establish the dictatorship of the mullahs that have destroyed Iran and the countries of the region,” said Ahmad AbouHashish, Deputy Chair of the Palestinian Legislative Council.

“The Iranian regime tries to portray itself as the protector of Islamic countries. But the truth is far from that. The truth is the militias of the Iranian regime that is spreading terrorism across the Arab and Islamic countries,” said Dr.Walid Phares, Foreign Policy expert, Co-Secretary General of the Transatlantic Parliamentary Group.

“The regime is not the protector of Shiites. They are the oppressors of Shiites. After all these decades of bloodshed, how can we say that this regime represents Islam? We must help bring an understanding of the realities on the ground. Most of the people in the region know the danger of this regime. We wish this resistance movement to be successful in bringing peace and stability to the region,” he added.
