On January 17, Iran’s regime executed four individuals, including Karamat Nazarkhani and Iman Shabani, while on January 16, four more prisoners faced the gallows. Tragically, weightlifting athlete Yaghoub Alimoradi was hanged on January 15. In a separate incident, Jamsheed Gorgij, detained after the 2022 Zahedan uprising, succumbed to a heart attack in prison due to regime-induced delays in medical attention.

To divert attention from crises, Khamenei has intensified executions and warmongering. Media outlets warn of an impending unrest, emphasizing the urgent need for political action. Concurrently, prison guards subject political prisoners to increased pressure and torture. Hossein Salehi, a 2022 uprising detainee, suffers from severe nervous disease due to torture, while Hamed Ghareh Oghlani, serving a 13-year sentence, is denied hospital transfer despite severe epilepsy. He began a hunger strike on January 12 and was placed in solitary confinement on January 16.

Mehdi Maarabi, a 32-year-old political prisoner with a heart condition, faced inadequate medical attention despite a recent heart attack. The Iranian Resistance urgently calls on the international community to intervene, save prisoners facing imminent execution, and establish an international truth-finding mission to inspect Iranian prisons, particularly meeting with political prisoners.
