As inequality deepens and hunger spreads, analysts warn that the clerical regime’s economic monopoly is turning Iran into a silent volcano ready to explode

The clerical regime in Iran has hollowed out the nation not only of justice but even of the most basic conditions for human life. Through its monopolistic and corrupt system, the Supreme Leader’s office and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) have seized control of Iran’s economic arteries, turning the country’s resources into instruments of power and privilege. What was once described as a “class gap” has now become, in the words of many analysts, a dormant but terrifying volcano beneath the surface of Iranian society.

The regime’s politicized economy has created not only an ever-widening divide between rulers and the ruled but also a system incapable of internal reform. The ruling class clings to wealth and power through deception and repression, while the majority of Iranians are trapped between poverty and the despair of lost hope.

Even voices from within the regime are beginning to acknowledge this grim reality. Government-affiliated sociologist Amir Mahmoud Harirchi recently admitted that “class gaps have destroyed development and education in Iran.” His technical phrasing hides a far more alarming truth: a system built on inequality and the hoarding of the people’s rights cannot save itself.

The Regime’s Language of Deception

The question now confronting Iranian society is stark: can these fractures withstand the pressure of an impending social eruption? The answer lies in the empty streets, in the dinner tables stripped of bread, and in the simmering anger of a generation robbed of its future.

While ordinary citizens struggle to survive, some regime lawmakers try to distract public anger with populist rhetoric. One parliament member recently declared that “sometimes Pharaohs in this land destroy the roots of the economy,” attempting to shift blame to foreign powers and vague conspiracies. But such statements are little more than linguistic sleight of hand, a manipulation designed to hide the truth behind slogans.

The people, however, have already named their true oppressor. Their chant echoes across Iran’s streets:
“Our enemy is right here – they lie, it’s America.”

This simple slogan cuts through decades of propaganda, exposing the regime’s greatest lie — that external enemies are to blame for the misery created by its own corrupt and destructive rule.

Hunger, Despair, and the Looming Reckoning

The truth is clear: the clerical establishment sustains itself not through faith or patriotism, but through economic cruelty and social repression. Its endless chants of “Death to America” serve only to mask the regime’s war against its own citizens — a war waged through inflation, unemployment, and systemic injustice.

History has shown repeatedly that when hunger takes root in the body of a nation, no army, ideology, or repressive force can silence the cry for bread.

Today, the real threat to the mullahs’ regime does not come from abroad but from the growing rage and despair within Iranian society itself — a people who are told “we will bring prosperity” yet face nothing but hunger, repression, and lies.

Iran stands on the edge of a breaking point. Each passing hour deepens public fury against the class-based tyranny of the Velayat-e Faqih system. And as history reminds us, no revolution is more dangerous — or more unstoppable — than the revolution of the hungry.
