The commander of the Free Syrian Army has said Iranian troops have taken part in an attack on his forces and he has pleaded for western help to fight back.
General Salim Edris said 'Iranian elements' and Hezbollah assaulted his soldiers in Alqosair, while more than 7,000 Lebanese Hezbollah fighters under Iranian command attacked his army in Qosair, which is under the control of the Syrian opposition.
General Edris urged the west for more ammunition to protest their citizens, and told the BBC World Service on May 30: "We are being killed. Please come and help us."
On Wednesday, the United Nations Human Rights Counsel also condemned the attacks on Qosair by the Syrian government and foreign fighters.
