Growing Recognition for Escalating Iranian Arms Sales, Military Activities

INU - On Monday, Reuters reported that Iranian officials had responded harshly, albeit predictably, to comments from US Secretary of Defense James Mattis affirming that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains the world’s leading exporter of terrorism. Tehran used the verbal confrontation as an opportunity to shift attention toward its regional rivalry with Saudi Arabia by accusing the US of ignoring terrorist-supporting activity by the Sunni kingdom, a long-standing American ally.

Iran's Use of Afghans for 'Export of Revolution'

Foreign proxies were regularly used to fight battles during the Cold War.

Iran Sanctions US Companies and Considers a Bill to Designate US Military and CIA As "Terrorist Groups"

Apparently in response to U.S. sanctions placed on dozens of Iranian entities earlier this year, following Iran’s unlawful ballistic missile tests, the Iranian regime imposed sanctions on 15 American companies, last week.  Among other things, it accused them of “support for terrorism”.

Iran has Lost Thousands, including 10 Generals, to Syria-Iraq Wars

It has recently been reported that estimates show thousands of fighters and more than 10 generals have been lost by Iran, while they have engaged in the Syria-Iraq wars. The report analyzed many different estimates of Iranian losses that have been recently announced.

Mohammad Ali Shahidi, Director of the Martyrs Foundation, an Iranian governmental entity that receives its funding directly from the national budget, announced at a conference on martyrdom in Iranian culture on March 6, that estimated Iranian losses in the Syria-Iraq wars were at 2,100.  However, Shahidi announced a loss of only around 1,000 Iranian fighters as recently as November.
