On Friday, November 1, Iran’s defiant youth marked the anniversary of “Bloody Friday of Khash,” remembering the martyrs of the November 4, 2022, uprising in Khash. Actions took place in cities across Iran, including Zahedan, Mashhad, Qazvin, Karaj, and Tehran, where protesters targeted symbols and institutions of the regime’s repression.
The actions carried out by these courageous youth in tribute to the Khash uprising included:
- An explosion at the Sistan and Baluchestan judicial office in Zahedan
- Torching of a regime building in Zahedan
- Destruction of an IRGC Basij base in Zahedan
- Burning of banners representing the regime’s proxy forces in Zahedan
- Torchings at two IRGC Basij bases in Mashhad
- Burning of banners depicting Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Qazvin
- Destruction of a banner of former President Ebrahim Raisi in Karaj
- Torching of banners representing the regime’s proxies in Tehran
On Sunday, November 3, the youth responded to the regime’s demolition of impoverished Baluchi homes in Zibashahr, Chabahar, by targeting additional sites:
- Explosion at an IRGC Basij headquarters in Tehran
- Explosion at a Basij base in Kermanshah
- Explosion at an Islamic fundamentalist propaganda center in Shiraz
Meanwhile, PMOI Resistance Units honored the Khash martyrs with rallies in Zahedan, adopting slogans such as “We stand till the end.” Banners displayed messages like:
- “On the anniversary of Bloody Friday of Khash, we stand till the end”
- “The religious dictator will be overthrown by the people”
- “The first and last word is regime change”
- “The shah and the mullahs, a hundred years of crime”
- “Baluchistan’s call: Death to the oppressor, whether shah or mullah”
- “Iran without executions, a free and prosperous Iran is our promise to the people”
- “Khamenei’s brutal executions demand uprising”
- “We reject a government that kills Baluchis; long live a democratic Iran”
Two years ago, on November 4, 2022, the IRGC, under orders from Khamenei, opened fire from government rooftops in Khash on civilians protesting after Friday prayers with calls of “Death to Khamenei.” Security forces killed at least 20 civilians that day.
In response, Khash’s youth rose in resistance, facing the regime’s forces with nothing but their courage, ultimately driving them back. The Bloody Friday of Khash, alongside the events in Zahedan, showed that a determined populace will not be intimidated by oppression.
The Khash uprising saw men, women, parents, and youth united on the streets. Women, in particular, who refuse to accept the regime’s brutality, have vowed to continue the struggle in honor of those who have fallen, committed to seeing this resistance through to the end.
