Iran’s regime has escalated its execution campaign to some of its highest levels in years, killing at least 59 prisoners between Saturday and Wednesday, November 15–19, 2025—an average of one execution every two hours. Executions Spread Across Nearly Every Province
A key and alarming development distinguishing this wave from previous years is the broadening of execution sites. While historically concentrated in a few major prisons such as Evin, Rajaei Shahr, and select provincial centers, executions in recent months have spread to dozens of cities large and small, turning nearly every prison in the country into an active execution site. This expansion reflects the regime’s intensifying reliance on execution as a tool of domestic repression amid ongoing unrest.

Reports confirm the death of Amir Neisi (27), a Sunni prisoner held for six years in Wards 5 and 8 of Sheiban Prison, Ahvaz. He died after prison authorities refused to transfer him to a hospital, highlighting the systemic use of medical neglect as a method of slow execution.
Calls for Urgent International Action
