Retired Educators’ Protests
The preceding day, Monday, January 6, retired educators across Iran rallied against the regime’s corruption and repressive policies, which have pushed many to the brink of poverty. Protesters chanted slogans such as:
- “We survive on blood-soaked morsels – our livelihood is in the dragon’s jaws.”
- “Cry out against all this arrogance and hypocrisy.”
- “Shout, shout, against all this injustice.”
- “With all these resources, how is Iran in ruins?”
- “Oh justice, strike down injustice.”
Telecom Workers’ Demonstrations
On the same day, retired telecom workers in Isfahan launched bold protests, condemning the looting of their rights by the Execution of Khomeini’s Order (EIKO) and the IRGC. Their slogans included:
- “EIKO has taken telecom and stolen our rights.”
- “The IRGC has taken telecom and stolen our rights.”
Nationwide Protests Continue
The movement gained further momentum on Monday, January 13, with protests erupting in cities across Iran, including Tehran, Ahvaz, Ilam, Isfahan, Shiraz, Shahrekord, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Marivan, and Urmia. Demonstrators, including retired telecom workers, rallied against economic injustices and the regime’s plundering of national resources. Protest chants echoed previous grievances:
- “Shout, shout, against all this injustice.”
- “The IRGC has eaten our rights.”
Systemic Exploitation and Public Outcry
Under the kleptocratic rule of the mullahs, the majority of Iranians—particularly workers, laborers, and retirees—face deteriorating living conditions and pervasive economic crises. Protesters decry the regime’s corruption, chanting: “One less embezzlement and our problems will be solved!” These protests highlight the growing unrest and the populace’s refusal to remain silent in the face of systemic exploitation.
The persistence of these demonstrations underscores the mounting pressure on the regime as discontent spreads among various social and economic groups.
