On November 21, 2025, in Zahedan, southeast Iran, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) Resistance Units resumed their weekly activities, sending a clear message of defiance against the ruling mullahs. According to the Resistance Units, their efforts aim to challenge the regime’s repressive apparatus while reaffirming their commitment to overthrowing the clerical regime and establishing a democratic republic that rejects all forms of dictatorship.
In their public statements, the units warned that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei should take lessons from past ousted autocrats, such as Ben Ali in Tunisia, and step down voluntarily. They argued that failure to do so will provoke a societal uprising, describing the regime as facing an inevitable reckoning with the Iranian people. The self-immolation of Ahvazi youth Ahmad Baledi was cited as a symbol of a society on the brink, ready to erupt against systemic oppression and injustice.
The Resistance Units highlighted the country’s water crisis, linking it to the IRGC and the Supreme Leader’s office. They stressed that the eviction of military contractors and water profiteers is essential to securing essential resources for the population. They declared their ultimate goal is the liberation of Iran’s people and homeland, framing the overthrow of the clerical regime as an unavoidable historical outcome.
According to them, the regime understands nothing but force, and they emphasized that meaningful change will be achieved by the people themselves. They described the struggle as a direct confrontation between the Iranian populace and the ruling mullahs, asserting that the tremors of overthrow have already shaken the clerical establishment. The units condemned ongoing executions and human rights violations, framing public uprising as the proper response to the regime’s violence.
The message from the Resistance Units included resolute slogans emphasizing democracy, equality, and freedom. They rejected both monarchy and clerical rule, insisting that Iran must be governed as a democratic republic. “A dictator is a dictator, whether with a turban or a crown,” they declared, while promising that Tehran and other cities would rise, forcing the mullahs and the IRGC to submit to the will of the people.
The Resistance Units concluded that the fundamental issue of the era is the overthrow of the regime of executions and massacres. Their statement made clear that the campaign for freedom, justice, and self-determination will continue until the Iranian people reclaim their country and establish a system based on democracy and equality.
