Iran Regime’s latest fake news against MEK

Iran Regime’s latest fake news against MEK

It is well-known that the Iranian Regime’s Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) has created a plethora of fake internet and TV alternatives in order to discredit the main Iranian opposition group, the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The Regime’s aim is to make themselves look better and discourage people from joining the MEK.

Recently, the Iranian regime claimed that the owner of so-called opposition website AmadNews was arrested in a “professional”, “Intelligent”, and “polyhedral” mission using “new style intelligent work”, but the  National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI)  has labeled this claim as stupid, ridiculous, and phony saber-rattling. It should be noted that the MOIS’ cyber army often runs media outlets that claim to be part of the “opposition”, but really just parrot the mullahs.

This is the case of the outlet Restart, which replied to the US State Department’s call for questions and demands from the Iranian people on social media, with thousands of tweets that appeared to come from the cities of Mashhad, Tabriz, Yazd, and Tehran. This was the regime’s cyber army trying to mobilize its forces into running a fake news campaign against the MEK.

Restart’s owner Mohammad Hosseini began working for the Iranian regime on their state-run TV in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Cyprus, and finally the US. He said that MOIS agents had “kindly” asked him to run a TV station during a meeting in the UAE.

Hashem Khastar, the representative of freedom-loving teachers of Iran, warned on July 21 that one of the Regime's fake media outlets - Farzanegan group – was “created by the regime’s cyber army to hunt freedom loving activists”. He told people to “stay alert” and said that he’d previously been forced to take a position against the MEK in order to avoid punishment. He was arrested three weeks later.

The Regime spends millions of dollars even year to run their fake Internet networks and media channels, while also making hundreds of movies and publishing over 1,000 books to demonize the MEK. This is a desperate attempt to stop Iranians, especially women and young people, from joining the MEK, but they cannot do it. This creates a nightmare for the regime, who have no room left to deceive the people.

The Regime wants to suppress the MEK’s supporters and resistance units inside Iran with its demonization campaign against the MEK, but increasingly it is backfiring. In its attempts to stop the fear of overthrow by the MEK and the Iranian people, from spreading in its own forces, the Iranian Regime hurts itself. The Iranian people are not fooled by the lies the Regime spreads about the MEK and increasingly the rest of the world is waking up to what Iran is doing.

MEK leader Maryam Rajavi tweeted: Stand up to the clerical regime and prevent their access to missile programs and any form of arms and equipment. Blacklist the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) and the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the US and European Union.
