Maryam Rajavi: We Will Free Iran: Part 6

Previously, we looked at the history of the Resistance, where it is headed, why the Regime is disrupting the Middle East, the lies of the appeasement policy, and why the only solution to the Regime is its overthrow by the people of Iran. Here we will look at how the units of rebellion are making that a reality.

Maryam Rajavi explained that the spread of the MEK’s rebellion units was a major breakthrough during the ongoing anti-regime uprising that began in December 2017 and is the answer to a regime that is incapable of reform. This is how the people will overthrow the Regime.

The Regime knows this, which is why they are cracking down on the MEK units and arresting members. In fact, Iranian Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said that 116 MEK units were arrested this year, while the director-general of intelligence in East Azerbaijan Province said the regime had arrested 110 people, issuing death sentences and lengthy prison terms.

Maryam Rajavi said: “The enemy can neither succeed in breaking the morale of resistance forces in prisons nor is it able to thwart the resistance movement and the units of rebellion in cities… Every young man or woman yearning for freedom and justice is a potential or de facto rebel… Victory is ours and the dawn is looming.”

Maryam Rajavi explained that there are two sides facing off against each other over the future of Iran; on one side the deadlocked regime, on the other “a nation and its Resistance fighting for freedom”.

She said that alternative to the mullahs is freedom and that the Resistance will establish a “democratic and pluralist republic” based on the separation of religion and state, gender equality, the autonomy of Iran’s ethnic groups, and a non-nuclear Iran.

She explained that the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the coalition of democratic resistance groups has a plan to bring power to the people and ensure a peaceful transition of power to the Iranian people’s elected representatives after the mullahs fall from power. The NCRI would take over with Maryam Rajavi as President, for a period not to exceed six months to plan the elections and then when the representatives were ready, the NCRI would withdraw.

Maryam Rajavi said: “The day is not far when Iran, the Land of Lion and Sun, will embrace freedom. We are determined to create a new future, a new plan devoid of tyranny, reactionary thought, duplicity and discrimination. A new design for a free and prosperous Iran. So, we will sing in unison as we march toward victory: we will take back Iran and we will build a new homeland.
Yes, indeed, we will take back Iran.”
