Resistance Units organized coordinated activities across Iranian cities to commemorate the historic July 21, 1952 uprising, honoring Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh while promoting the values of freedom, independence, and resistance to dictatorship.

As Iran marked the anniversary of the historic July 21, 1952 (30 Tir 1331) popular uprising, PMOI Resistance Units carried out a broad series of activities across the country to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh and those who lost their lives during the uprising.

The coordinated campaign included projection displays, poster installations, banners, handwritten leaflets, wall slogans, and public displays in numerous cities. The actions emphasized the themes of freedom, national independence, and steadfast resistance against dictatorship, while drawing connections between Mossadegh’s legacy and the Iranian Resistance’s ongoing struggle for democratic change.

Projection displays in Mashhad highlight Mossadegh’s legacy

In Mashhad, Resistance Units organized two projection campaigns.

One projection displayed a photograph of Maryam Rajavi alongside the slogan:

“Salute to Mossadegh and tribute to the martyrs of the July 21 uprising.”

A second projection featured Massoud Rajavi with the message:

“Being a follower of Mossadegh means refusing compromise with both the Shah and the Sheikh.”

The campaign underscored the Resistance’s message that Iran’s democratic future requires rejecting both monarchy and religious dictatorship.

Tehran campaign combines posters, slogans, and handwritten leaflets

In Tehran, Resistance Units installed posters featuring Massoud Rajavi alongside Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh, carrying the quotation:

“Blessed is Mossadegh, whose shining memory teaches patriotism and uncompromising resistance.”

Another poster quoted Massoud Rajavi describing Mossadegh as:

“The embodiment of the political will of an independent and free nation.”

The campaign also included handwritten leaflets and wall slogans bearing messages such as:

  • “Down with Khomeini and Khamenei; hail Rajavi.”
  • “Death to the principle of Velayat-e Faqih; long live the National Liberation Army.”
  • “Hail Rajavi.”

Additional printed and handwritten leaflets carrying similar messages were distributed and displayed throughout the city.

Activities spread across major Iranian cities

Similar actions were carried out in numerous other cities.

In Tabriz, activists displayed images of Maryam Rajavi with the message praising Mossadegh’s steadfast defense of the Iranian people’s interests, while another display quoted Massoud Rajavi stating that the continuation of Mossadegh’s path is embodied today in the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

In Shiraz, campaigners installed photo displays featuring Massoud Rajavi and additional slogans expressing support for the Resistance and opposition to the ruling establishment.

In Karaj, displays combined photographs of Massoud Rajavi and Mossadegh with one of Mossadegh’s most famous declarations before the Shah’s military tribunal:

“Where justice is concerned, I will sacrifice everything. I possess nothing except my homeland, which is always before my eyes.”

Another display affirmed that the continuation of Mossadegh’s path is represented by the NCRI, while a separate banner featuring Maryam Rajavi declared:

“Our covenant with Massoud remains until our last breath and our last drop of blood.”

Resistance activities continue nationwide

Additional commemorative actions were reported in Bandar Abbas, Kermanshah, Qazvin, Gorgan, Amol, Marivan, Tabas, Hamedan, Malayer, Iranshahr, and Minudasht.

These activities included photo displays, banners, handwritten placards, and posters featuring quotations from Mossadegh, Massoud Rajavi, and Maryam Rajavi. Many also displayed slogans opposing the ruling system and expressing support for the National Liberation Army and the Iranian Resistance.

In Iranshahr, Resistance Units organized a three-person street action using handwritten placards carrying several anti-regime slogans, followed by another public display reinforcing the campaign’s central message.

Honoring history while advancing the struggle for democratic change

The nationwide campaign reflects the continued efforts of the PMOI Resistance Units to link one of Iran’s defining democratic milestones—the July 21 uprising led in defense of Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh—with today’s movement for political change.

By commemorating Mossadegh’s commitment to national sovereignty and resistance to dictatorship, the Resistance Units presented the anniversary as both a tribute to Iran’s democratic history and a call to continue the struggle for freedom, independence, and the establishment of a democratic republic.
