As Iran marked the 46th anniversary of the 1979 anti-monarchic revolution—an uprising that was ultimately hijacked by Khomeini and transformed into an even more oppressive regime—the Resistance Units of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) carried out a series of bold activities across multiple cities. These actions reaffirmed the ongoing struggle against the rule of the mullahs and sought to revive the true spirit of a revolution that was stolen from the Iranian people.

Acts of Defiance Across the Nation
In Ardabil, resistance members projected powerful slogans and images onto buildings along Banafsheh Street and Andisheh Street. One of the most striking messages declared, “Death to the oppressor, whether it be the Shah or Khamenei,” emphasizing the rejection of all forms of dictatorship. Meanwhile, on Niloufar Street, an image of Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), was displayed alongside her powerful words: “The horizon of freedom and victory is becoming increasingly clear.”
In Rasht, similar acts of defiance unfolded on Gol Maryam Street, where large-scale projections delivered a resolute message: “We must break the chains of religious fascism piece by piece.” This statement underscored the necessity of dismantling the theocratic regime and restoring freedom to the Iranian people.

Other cities also witnessed acts of resistance. In Mashhad’s Vila Street and Meshginshahr’s Allameh Street, images of Iranian Resistance leaders were projected with the message, “Hail to Rajavi!”—a testament to the enduring support for the leadership of the opposition movement. Meanwhile, in Tehran, Urmia, and Ardabil’s Fayzieh Street, images of Massoud Rajavi were displayed, accompanied by the declaration: “The leader of Iran’s democratic resistance will prevail.”
A Revolution Reclaimed
These acts of defiance send a clear message: the 1979 revolution was originally a fight for freedom, one that was later subverted by Khomeini’s oppressive rule. The Iranian Resistance Units emphasize that this struggle remains alive today and has taken shape through their relentless activities against the ruling dictatorship.
By carrying out these bold initiatives in the heart of Iran’s cities, the Resistance Units have demonstrated that the spirit of revolution is far from extinguished. Instead, it continues to thrive through organized resistance efforts, bringing renewed hope to the people that victory is closer than ever. Their unwavering determination serves as a direct challenge to the regime, reinforcing the belief that a free and democratic Iran is not only possible but inevitable.
