Insider news & Analysis in Iran

Daily Caller - Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, all but said on Sunday that negotiations over the country’s illicit nuclear program are over and that the Islamic Republic’s ideals include destroying America.

Iran’s cultural isolation apparently showed through at the latest round of talks over its nuclear program. Its refusal to cooperate may suggest changes in direction from both sides of the negotiating table. For its part, the United States is reportedly considering the possibility of bilateral talks that would temporarily circumvent the rest of the P5+1, according to the Wall Street Journal.

(Reuters) - Russia plans to sign a contract with Iran this year to build two more nuclear reactors at its Bushehr power plant as part of a broader deal for up to eight reactors in the Islamic state, a source close to the negotiations told Reuters on Thursday.

Reuters: The UN nuclear watchdog sought in talks with Iran on Tuesday to advance a long-stalled investigation into Tehran's atomic activities, but it was not immediately clear whether any headway was made.

Tasnim News Agency reports that in a speech at Friday prayer services, Ayatollah Kazem Sadiqi outlined some of the mullahs’ redlines that negotiators are not expected to cross in their talks with the US and five other nations over Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

Los Angeles Times: A top U.S. official cautioned Tuesday that obstacles remain before a nuclear deal can be reached between Iran and six world powers and warned that the widespread optimism about the four-month-long negotiations has gotten “way out of control.”
