In recent days, Zahedan has become a focal point for heightened activities by the Resistance Units of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). Across the city, banners and leaflets were boldly displayed to mark the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Kazem Rajavi, one of Iran’s most renowned human rights defenders.
The widespread campaign carried powerful political messages touching on four major themes: honoring Dr. Rajavi’s legacy, rejecting all forms of dictatorship, condemning executions and repression, and affirming the Iranian people’s unwavering commitment to freedom.
Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Kazem Rajavi
Many of the banners highlighted Dr. Rajavi’s historic role in exposing the Iranian regime’s crimes on the international stage. Slogans praised his efforts, stating:
-
“Kazem Rajavi and the Mojahedin achieved the condemnation of the regime through tens of millions of hours of exposing crimes across the world.”
-
“Dr. Kazem Rajavi: We write the history of human rights with our blood.”
-
“Kazem Rajavi was the first to record the condemnation of the mullahs’ regime at the UN Human Rights Commission and the UN General Assembly.”

Participants emphasized that Dr. Rajavi’s “only crime” was his tireless defense of human rights. It was recalled that the Iranian regime dispatched 13 agents—operating under diplomatic cover—to assassinate him in Geneva, highlighting the extent of the regime’s desperation to silence its critics.

Rejecting Both Monarchical and Theocratic Tyranny
The Resistance Units’ campaign made it clear that their struggle is not limited to opposing the current clerical regime but extends to rejecting all forms of tyranny, including the former monarchy. Among the slogans displayed were:
-
“From Zahedan to Tehran, death to tyrants whether from the Shah’s regime or the mullahs’ regime.”
-
“Baluchestan is awake and rejects both the Shah and the mullahs.”
-
“No to monarchy, no to theocracy… yes to freedom and equality.”
-
“Neither the Shah nor the mullahs… long live the Iranian people’s democratic revolution.”

These messages underscored a clear and consistent demand: the establishment of a democratic republic, free from any form of dictatorship, whether crowned or cloaked in clerical garb.
Condemning Executions and Internal Repression
Another major theme was the regime’s escalating repression through mass executions. The Resistance Units condemned these brutal policies with slogans such as:
-
“The brutal executions reflect the deadly deadlock in which the mullahs’ regime is trapped.”
-
“Khamenei vainly attempts to prevent the people’s uprising and his regime’s downfall through executions and massacres.”
-
“The people’s response to the massacres and executions of political prisoners is a fiery uprising.”
The campaign stressed that resisting repression is not just a right but a duty, reaffirming the people’s determination to confront tyranny.

Commitment to Overthrowing the Regime and Achieving Freedom
Throughout Zahedan, slogans voiced the people’s resolve to continue the fight until the regime’s downfall:
-
“We are fighting a decisive battle to determine our nation’s destiny against the mullahs’ regime and its agents.”
-
“We are ready, present, and fighting for freedom and equality.”
-
“Iran’s modern democratic revolution will prevail.”
-
“The Iranian people’s demand is to establish a democratic republic.”
The Resistance Units, as the operational backbone of the popular uprising, remain focused on their goal: overthrowing the ruling regime and establishing a free, democratic Iran based on human dignity, equality, and the separation of religion and state.

Their vision aligns with the Ten-Point Plan presented by Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which calls for a secular, pluralistic republic where the rights of all citizens are respected.
As the banners across Zahedan proclaimed, the fight for freedom in Iran continues—and the spirit of heroes like Dr. Kazem Rajavi lives on through the determination of a nation unwilling to surrender.
