The man known only by his initials D.M. had been sentenced to death for murder, the state-run Fars news agency reported.

The regime’s judiciary in the province also said another prisoner known as M.K. was taken for execution for killing a man during a dispute over water for his farm – but was given a last-ditch reprieve by members of his victim’s family.

More than 400 executions have taken place in Iran since the election of new ‘moderate’ president Hassan Rouhani last June.
