Last week, with the increase in the prices of gasoline and diesel in Iran, the governorship of Tehran announced the increase in rent prices of taxi in less than a week.

Previously, Abolfazl Ghanaati, member of the Transportation Committee of Tehran had said that from May 6, the rents of taxi will increase 25%, bus 20% and metro 15%.

The Economy Minister of Rouhani’s government had formerly announced that the increase in prices will not be shocking, but the sharp increase in the prices of essential needs like electricity, water, fuel and bread showed that the increase in prices is mutational and this is not proportional with the income of the people, especially the low-income strata.
