Kurdish prisoners Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Molaei, and Jamshid and Jahangir Dehghani began their strike at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, west of Tehran, in early November.

Mr Molaei and Jamshid and Jahangir Dehghani were all transferred to the prison’s clinic after falling into a coma on January 6, while Mr Ahmadi and Jamshid Dehghani are also also suffering from severe internal abdominal bleeding.

All four prisoners have lost between 17 and 30 kilograms and the prison doctor has reported their situation as being dangerous.

Their family members launched their own hunger strike outside the prison after visiting their loved ones and have continued their protest and on their return to Kurdistan.
