PMOI Resistance Units in Sistan and Baluchestan promote the vision of a democratic republic through public outreach activities, emphasizing the rejection of both monarchical and religious dictatorship as the path toward a free Iran.

On Friday, May 29, courageous PMOI Resistance Units carried out a series of public activities in Zahedan, the capital of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province, promoting the vision of a democratic republic and reaffirming the Iranian people’s rejection of all forms of dictatorship.

Through the distribution of leaflets and the display of banners in public areas, Resistance Unit members highlighted the principle that Iran’s future must be built on popular sovereignty, democratic values, and independence from both monarchical and religious authoritarianism.

The campaign echoed a central slogan that has become increasingly prominent among Iran’s organized resistance movement:

“Neither Shah nor Mullah – the Iranian people want a democratic republic.”

Resistance Leadership’s Roadmap for Iran’s Future

The leaflets distributed during the campaign featured messages from PMOI leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi, outlining what Resistance activists describe as the roadmap for Iran’s democratic future.

Among the messages attributed to Massoud Rajavi were:

“The fundamental principle of ‘Neither Shah nor Mullah’ means the rejection of every form of dictatorship and dependence.”

“Replacing a fascistic structure with a democratic and pluralistic republic is the only path forward.”

“The main struggle against the ruling regime today is being carried out through the ongoing uprisings of the Iranian people and the activities of the Resistance Units.”

“Throughout Iran’s history, the Shah and the Mullah have been partners in oppression, two sides of the same coin.”

The campaign also highlighted statements from Maryam Rajavi emphasizing the role of organized resistance and popular uprising in achieving democratic change.

Among the messages circulated were:

“At the center of the organized resistance of the Iranian people stand the Resistance Units.”

“The decisive battle is between the Iranian people and the religious dictatorship.”

“The main conflict is between the ruling regime and the people of Iran, a struggle that has continued for more than four decades.”

“The overthrow of this regime is possible only through the uprising of the people and the organized resistance of Iran.”

“We have risen for the people’s right to sovereignty.”

Rejecting Both Monarchy and Theocracy

A major theme of the Zahedan campaign was the rejection of both the current clerical regime and any return to monarchical rule.

Resistance activists distributed leaflets carrying slogans such as:

“Dictatorship is dictatorship, whether it wears a turban or a crown.”

“Curse upon the bloodthirsty Mullah and Shah.”

“Monarchy and Velayat-e Faqih: one hundred years of crime.”

“The shops of the Mullah and the Shah—the machinery of despotism and dependence—must be shut down once and for all.”

The slogans reflected the Resistance movement’s long-standing position that Iran’s future lies neither in the restoration of the monarchy nor in the continuation of clerical rule, but in the establishment of a democratic republic based on the will of the people.

Zahedan’s Message of Solidarity with the Nationwide Struggle

The banners displayed during the operation also emphasized solidarity between the people of Sistan and Baluchestan and protesters across Iran.

Among the slogans displayed were:

“From Zahedan to Tehran, death to the oppressor, whether Shah or Supreme Leader.”

“Baluchestan is awake; it rejects both Shah and Mullah.”

“Neither monarchy nor supreme leadership; democracy and equality.”

The campaign underscored the growing role of Resistance Units in keeping alive calls for democratic change despite ongoing repression and escalating executions by the Iranian regime. Through such activities, Resistance activists continue to promote the vision of a free Iran founded on democratic governance, equality, and popular sovereignty.
