On September 16, Mahsa Amini, 22, was killed following the “morality police’s” fatal blows in custody in Tehran. The theocratic fascism in Iran once again demonstrated its institutionalized misogyny policy with the horrific murder of an innocent Kurdish girl.

Following the crime, many citizens joined Amini’s family to mourn and seek justice for the late Mahsa. Instead, authorities downplayed this unforgivable crime through fabricated forensic documents and propaganda videos, fueling public anger.

In a few hours, protests ignited in Tehran and Saqqez, Mahsa’s hometown, and extended to many areas across Kurdistan and Iran. “Death to Khamenei,” “I’ll kill whoever killed my sister,” and “Khamenei is a murderer; his rule is illegitimate,” demonstrators chanted.

The regime suppressive forces brutally repressed the demonstrators by opening fire on them and arresting thousands of protesters. Rights activists, including Amnesty International, expressed their concerns over the repetition of the November 2019 crackdown, when the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) killed at least 1,500 citizens and arrested and tortured many more.

Since the gas protests, this is the first time that anti-regime demonstrations engulfed the country with similar slogans, calling for regime change.

On September 27, the Iranian opposition Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI) declared that the protests had continued for 12 days. “Protests continued across Iran on Tuesday, September 27, marking the 12th day of this uprising against the mullahs’ regime,” the MEK official website reported.

“As a result of the regime’s massive crackdown measures and opening fire on demonstrators, sources associated with the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) are reporting more than 240 protesters have been killed, and over at least 12,000 others have been arrested.”

The Iranian opposition coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has also published the confirmed names and specifications of 55 martyrs thanks to the information provided by the MEK domestic network “Resistance Units.”

On September 24, the NCRI published the name of 19 martyrs, including:
