In this regard, after around three weeks, the people in some parts of the country still have no internet access. Disconnecting the people from the internet is taking place while Iranian authorities including Ali Khamenei, military officials, and the state-run media outlets were continuing their activities on social media.
While Iranian authorities still enjoy their presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, etc., the majority of Iran’s society is prohibited from these networks. On the other hand, the Iranian regime previously established a cyber army to infiltrate sensitive foreign institutions. This army, which consists of the mullahs’ advocates, is also promoting officials’ remarks and their accounts. The agents of this army, who pose as ordinary Iranians, ironically circumvent the official ban to support the persons who banned the people from accessing social media!
Facebook has fully removed @Khamenei_ir‘s Arabic account.
All social media platforms, including @Twitter, should do the same to each and every account used by the mullahs’ regime to spread their hatred and propaganda.#Iran pic.twitter.com/CIuW9Bnfae

Furthermore, the Iranian regime’s officials misuse social media to promote their outdated interpretation of religion, which underlies the emergence of extremist groups in the Middle East and across the globe. During recent months, Facebook and Twitter suspended many accounts of Iran-own media and proxies.
In November, Twitter suspended accounts belonging to the Iran-affiliated Hamas and Hezbollah groups. In this regard, a Twitter spokesperson said, “There is no place on Twitter for illegal terrorist organizations and violent extremist groups. We have a long history of taking strong enforcement action, using a combination of people, partnerships, and technology.”
It is worth reminding that Instagram had formerly suspended the page of the Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Forces commander Qassem Soleimani, his daughter, and several Iranian officials from this social media.
